Making the grade

By Jack Robaszkiewicz

Throughout my school career I’ve been a great student. I’m very dedicated to my studies and strive to be the best I can be in the classroom. This determination has earned me a 4.0 G.P.A. and high respect from my teachers. Throughout the years I’ve developed many tips and tricks to have success so I figured I would share a few of them with all of you.

Let’s say you have a big test coming up later in the week. Many students will wait until the night before and try to cram everything in before the test, which is one of the worst things to do. Your brain will quickly become over loaded, tired, and you’ll probably forget most of what you’ve studied. Instead, review a little bit of material every night leading up to the test. Your brain will process the information easier and by the time test day comes, you’ll have everything memorized.

If you want to pass you have to do your homework. I don’t like homework and I’m pretty sure 99% of the people reading this dislike it as well. However, you won’t pass your classes unless you do it. Just sit down and knock it out. Most assignments teachers give can be completed in 30 minutes or less if you put your mind to it. Plus most teachers give you credit for just attempting the homework; they don’t even grade it. Just doing homework helps your grade tremendously so just get it done.

Be respectful towards your teachers. Throughout high school I had teachers I liked and teachers I disliked; however, I was respectful towards all of them and it’s helped me out. When you show respect towards your teacher they’re most likely going to show respect back; though this doesn’t mean you should be the teacher’s pet. This means listen to the teacher when they’re talking, doing your work in class, not talking back, staying off your phone, etc. If you’re respectful, most teachers will give you extra credit if you need to bump your grade up.

I hope that you learned some new ways to help increase your chances of success in school. While I mainly went over only major tips I have several other small things that have helped me succeed. If you would like to learn more please feel free to contact me at [email protected]. I’ll be more than happy to help.

Sex over standards

Dating has changed drastically over time. Decades ago strict standards and guidelines were more common. It was women’s job to satisfy men. Don’t slouch or sit strange; don’t make it noticeable that you’re uninterested. Keep quiet, let him talk, and make sure it’s about him. Strict rules of being home at certain times and having parents’ consent to date. Dates consisted of spending quality time with each other, now it’s Netflix and chill. In this generation sex is an expectation over aspect today we set different standards when choosing who we date, their appearances shape our feelings. Today we value looks over personality, sex over common traits. We let other people’s opinions about a person influence our own.
Technology has a factor in how we associate with each other. Instead of interacting in person, most people sit behind a screen and communicate through social media. We show more attention to technology instead of acknowledging each other. Two people can be in a relationship and not know each other at all. Conversations are limited to simple text messages rather than going on an actual date.
I wish people accepted others for who they are rather than if they have the “perfect body.” Appreciate what we have because it’s what we want rather than what someone else wants or thinks.

A girl’s best friend

Everyone has different views on which is better, cats or dogs, my favorite is dogs. My reasoning for this is because dogs make me happier. If I’m having a bad day, which is normal for me, I always turn to my best friend Milo, my blue tick beagle who loves me unconditionally. He is always waiting for me to get home and even has a special bark to greet me. Cats are cute and all, but usually only show affection towards their owners when they want something.

Dogs are referred to as a man’s and woman’s best friend. They are loving, loyal, protective, friendly, and useful. They help with depression, provide stress relief, and assist disabled people. Dogs have been known to assist the police in many situations, whereas cats just get caught in trees. Dogs have lived side by side with people for a long time. As for cats, they just sleep and do whatever they please. If you disagree I’d be happy enough to discuss it with you over email @[email protected]
