An issue I’m seeing more and more of everyday are toxic relationships and friendships. The reason I’m choosing to write about this is because toxic relationships can take a major toll on ones mental health.
You can’t see mental heath issues so its easy to dismiss them, whereas a broken bone it is clear that you’re hurting. Toxic relationships and friendships don’t start that way, but they slowly manifest as you start to spend more time with them and by the time you identify the person to be toxic you feel as though you’re too invest to remove them from your life.
I feel like I try so hard to give people the benefit of the doubt and believe that certain people can change and I’m somehow always let down realizing they haven’t. I will always have love for the people who at some point meant the world to me, but I’m better off without them in my life.
